Baptism & Christening Photographer in Athens
Natural photos of your child's baptism, from the first candle to the last dance.
I'm Roman, a photographer based in Athens. A baptism moves fast. The oil, the three immersions, the white clothes and the walk around the font all happen within about an hour. I know the order of the service, so I'm in place before each moment, not after it.
I photograph Greek Orthodox and Catholic baptisms in Athens, in seaside chapels and on the islands. I speak English, Russian, Hebrew and Greek, so I can talk with your family and with the priest.
Church, family photos and the party, with photo, video and drone. Send me the date and the church, and I'll reply with a quote within a day.
How I cover the day
Before the service
Your family arrives, the godparents bring the baptism set and the church fills up. I photograph the dress, the shoes, the oil, the candles and the martyrika before anyone needs them.
The ceremony
The blessing of the water, the olive oil, the three immersions, the white sheet in the godparent's arms, the first cross and the walk around the font with candles. I stay close and quiet. The priest and your family never wait for me.
Family photos
Right after the service, at the altar or the iconostasis. First the whole group, then grandparents, godparents and siblings. About ten minutes, and nobody is left out.
The party
The welcome, the decor, the cake, the toasts and the Greek dancing. Kids, grandparents, everyone.
Photo, video and drone
I shoot photo, video and drone on my own, at the same time. Photos for the album and the family. A short film of the day. Drone shots that show where it all happened, like a white chapel above the sea.
Where I photograph baptisms
Any church in Athens and Attica, seaside chapels on the Athens Riviera, and the islands.
After a service at the Catholic Cathedral of St. Dionysius on Panepistimiou Street, the steps of the National Library are a few minutes' walk away. They make a beautiful spot for family photos.
Quotes are for Athens and the surrounding area. For other places, travel is added and agreed in advance.
Coverage and quote
Every baptism is different. Some families want the church only. Others want the whole day, from the first guests to the last dance, with video and drone.
Send me the date, the church and the time, and I'll reply with a quote within a day. Every option includes a private online gallery.

Yes. I know the order of the service, so I'm ready for each moment: the oil, the immersions, the chrismation and the walk around the font.
Do you photograph Catholic baptisms too?
Yes. I've photographed baptisms at the Catholic Cathedral of St. Dionysius on Panepistimiou Street, and I'm happy to work in any church.
Can you take photos inside the church?
In most churches, yes. I check with the priest before the service and follow his rules.
How long does a baptism take?
The service itself takes about an hour. Family photos take about ten minutes more. Party coverage is up to you.
Our family lives abroad. Can they see the photos?
Yes. You get a private online gallery you can share with anyone, wherever they live.
Do you travel outside Athens?
Yes, across Greece and to the islands. Travel is added and agreed in advance.
